  • Sweet Rice Punch (Sikhye) – 4 cups
  • Honey or sugar – 2 to 3 tablespoons, adjustable to taste
  • Sparkling water or soda – 1 cup (optional, for a bubbly twist)

Toppings and Garnishes

  • Pine nuts – 2 tablespoons for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruits: Wash all the fruits thoroughly. Peel and thinly slice or cube fruits such as Korean pear, watermelon, and oranges. Halve the strawberries to release more flavor into the punch.
  2. Mix the Base: In a large bowl or punch bowl, combine 4 cups of sweet rice punch (Sikhye) with 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey or sugar. Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  3. Combine Fruit and Liquid: Add the prepared fruits into the sweet rice punch mixture. If desired, gently stir in 1 cup of sparkling water or soda just before serving to add a bubbly kick.
  4. Chill and Garnish: Allow the punch to chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour so the flavors meld beautifully. Right before serving, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of pine nuts on top for an authentic finishing touch.
