Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Roll Dough

  • 1 can pre-made refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

Finishing Touches

  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for brushing)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Optional: sugar or cinnamon, for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to ensure easy cleanup and even baking.
  2. Unroll the Dough: Open your refrigerated crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it onto a clean surface, separating it into triangles as indicated on the packaging.
  3. Add the Chocolate Filling: Place a small handful of chocolate chips near the wide end of each dough triangle, leaving space for rolling.
  4. Roll It Up: Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the narrow point, tucking the chocolate in as you go to seal it inside the dough.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash: Mix one beaten egg and lightly brush it over the tops of each roll. Optionally, brush with melted butter as well for extra richness and crispiness. This step helps create a glossy, golden crust.
  6. Bake Until Golden: Place the rolls on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until they’re puffed up and golden brown.
  7. Cool and Enjoy: Allow the crescent rolls to cool slightly before indulging—the chocolate will be warm and gooey, just perfect!

Notes

  • Use quality chocolate for a smoother melt and richer flavor.
  • Don’t overfill the rolls to avoid leaks during baking.
  • If dough softens too much during handling, chill briefly to prevent tearing.
  • Watch the oven closely—brown edges indicate it’s time to remove the rolls.
  • Serve fresh or gently reheat for best texture and flavor.
