Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups pre-cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury biscuit dough
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings & Coating

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Shred or dice the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces. Open the biscuit dough can and separate the biscuits. Shred or slice mozzarella cheese and have the Alfredo sauce ready.
  2. Cut and Coat the Dough: Cut each biscuit into quarters to create small dough pieces. Melt the butter and mix it with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Dip each dough piece into this buttery herb mixture to coat well for flavor and a golden crust.
  3. Mix Chicken and Alfredo Sauce: In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken with Alfredo sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella. This creamy mixture will be layered among the dough pieces.
  4. Assemble in Bundt Pan: Spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray. Layer a few coated dough pieces, spoon on some chicken Alfredo mixture, then add another layer of dough. Repeat until all dough and chicken mixture is used. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before turning out onto a serving plate.

Notes

  • Use room temperature biscuit dough for easier handling and cleaner cuts.
  • Distribute the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly between dough layers to avoid sogginess and ensure flavor in every bite.
  • Use a bundt pan for even baking and easier pulling apart of the monkey bread.
  • Let the monkey bread rest briefly after baking to allow the cheese to set and help bread balls hold together.
  • Add fresh herbs such as parsley or basil just before serving for a fresh aroma and color.
