Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Alfredo Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Bread and Toppings

  • 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, about 6-7 minutes per side. Allow to cool, then slice thinly for layering.
  2. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, without browning. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Whisk in freshly grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Bread Base: Slice the baguette or Italian bread in half lengthwise. Mix softened butter with minced garlic, then spread the mixture evenly on each half of the bread. Toast in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes until just golden and fragrant.
  4. Assemble the Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread: Spoon the warm Alfredo sauce evenly over the toasted garlic bread halves. Layer the sliced chicken on top of the sauce, then sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken.
  5. Bake Until Melty and Bubbling: Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, gooey, and lightly browned. Remove from oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic and real Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Keep the Alfredo sauce creamy but not too runny to avoid soggy bread.
  • Pre-toast the bread before adding toppings for a crispy base that holds up well.
  • Slice the cooked chicken thinly to distribute evenly across the bread and make it easier to eat.
  • Use high-quality mozzarella and watch the bread closely while baking to prevent burning.
  • Store leftovers covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To freeze, wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap, place in a freezer bag, and freeze up to 2 months.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes to maintain crispiness and melt the cheese. Avoid microwaving to prevent soggy bread.
